New Investment

So finally I bit the bullet an made an investment in my future photography. I have wanted to upgrade my camera for so long but finally I made the decision to do it now. It took a lot of planning and a bit of financial borrowing but I has finally arrived. To say I was like a child at Christmas was an understatement. Iv never been so excited to open a box and put the parts together. Oh my the difference in caliber from my trusty 60D is astounding. Why didn't I bit the bullet sooner. The quality is so superb its positively dreamy!!! I'm in love.
I went an alternative route to most and purchased my Canon 5D Mark III online. Risky I know but the prices were that bit cheaper. I purchased mine on eGlobal Central and apart from a few technical glitches with my order processing at the start, It arrived safe and sound!! I had never heard of the website but my uncle who used the website to buy his camera and told me about it. I have to say the prices were a major seller for me. Obviously ordering an expensive camera online is a risk but happily it paid off.
Now excuse me while I go play with my new toy.

So there is a new addition to my camera family this week! The Fujifilm Finepix LSS was given to me by my extremely generous brother Seamie and his fiance Frances, for my birthday! And boy was i trilled! See since my little Canon IXUS was no more,I have not had a compact camera to bring on nights out and such, which i love having memories off! Somewhere along the way i must have mentioned(complained) about how i wanted one, as I will not risk breaking my DSLR on a night out!! And they must have been listening So when I arrived to their house the other evening they gave me my present before we headed out for the night. I was so happy, I took loads of photos! Thank you Seamie and Frances!!!

I know what your thinking....."She did not take this photograph"....but.....you would be right!!! I did not take this photograph because as far as I know my Canon DSLR 60D can not take a photograph of itself....I do not think any camera can...well not yet anyway!!! In September of this year, after years and years of admiring DSLR cameras in shops, online and those belonging to my friends, I could finally afford to buy my own. What's that I hear you ask? Why was September finally the time I could afford a DSLR? Well, because after four years of college i was finished in July of this year and I set myself to work waitressing in a hotel, where I saved very euro, well nearly. A girls got to have clothes too!!!..............

In 2008 i had the pleasure of picking out the replacement for my Kodak for my birthday. I looked at several options but i was drawn to the Canon Digital IXUS 70 for two reasons: because of it's abilities compared to it's competitors and it's style. It was slightly more expensive but worth every euro!! The Canon IXUS 70 had 7 megapixels, LCD screen, Optical zoom, and face detection. Not to mention increadiable colour and sharpness for a tiny compact. It's tough exterior saved it's life many a time, barely dinted it bares only some minor scratches. This beauty went everywhere with me and i was reknowned for having it on me at any moment...

The Kodak Easyshare CX7300 was given to me for Christmas i remember, and it almost killed me with excitement in 2004. With it's 1.6" display screen, 37mm lens, easy share option, and a wopping 3.2 mega pixels it was an awazing machine at the time. Capturing many important events of my teenage years, including my brothers wedding in 2005 (see below), up to and including my first year in college in 2007.....

A present from Santa, this Kodak Advantix F620 was my first proper camera with a zoom and three different settings including a Panoramic setting. It even printed the date and time on the back of the print which comes in handy as i don't really remember what year I got it. I defiantly had it on our family trip to New York in September 2002 (as the images show below) so im guessing i got it at Christmas 2001 which would make me...about 12 years old. A great camera to start off with, and later, after i moved on to digital, it served my mother as her camera untill 2010.

My first camera was a Barbie film camera when i was seven years old. My mother was persuaded to buy it for me in Dublin Airport on the way to Manchester for a wedding in 1996. It came with the album show here and one film roll. Here are some of the photographs i took on the trip. Not too shabby i think...
