The first time I saw Richard Mosses' beautiful 'Infra' photographs was when I volunteered on the opening night of Dublin Contemporary 2011 back in September. It was such a tiring day, and my back hurt from standing. At about 10pm i was moved upstairs to a room were a giant cloud of barb-wire hung from the ceiling... I can not remember the name of the artist but it was beautiful! Anyway...after a while of standing there telling people not to touch the razor sharp wire, and then they touch it anyway, i sheepishly step into the hall to sneek a peek into the other rooms. There i caught sight of the hot pinks, reds and purples of Mosses' 'Infra' work through a small window of a door. I told myself the masicistic art viewers would be ok with the barb-wire for a minute, and i stepped into Mosses' world. In the silence i saw all the beautiful colours dancing out at me like a parade. In those few moments i felt at peace, the colours made me happy, but there was an over-riding sense of sadness too. The beauty of the aesthetically sublime!!!
